Giving
Each year, Steinhafels gives back to the community by
participating with more than 100 local nonprofit organizations. We support our
local communities through: employees’ interests, company-supported
organizations, donating the Steinhafels
Community Room to not for profit groups, and holding blood drives.
Employee Interests
Steinhafels employs over 600 people in southeastern Wisconsin.
We honor our valued employees' by participating in nonprofit organizations that
are important to them. Our employees give their time and talent to many local
organizations including: PTA’s, youth activities, and sports.
Major Sponsorships
Steinhafels has been associated with
Meta House since 1996. Meta House provides services for poor women with
substance use disorders and their children by providing transitional living
facilities, job development, both residential and non-residential treatment
programs and childcare. They help young families gain independence and live
self-sufficiently. Steinhafels Furniture has donated furniture and accessories
to Meta House totaling over $200,000. This has enabled Meta House to provide
furnished apartments for dozens of families living in Meta Housing.
Steinhafels is a major sponsor of
"Race for the Cure" - Breast Cancer Research. We participate in
Milwaukee and Madison, where we are founding corporate sponsors.
Steinhafels helped the
Ronald McDonald house with over 50 mattress sets. The Ronald McDonald
house provides a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children
receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
Steinhafels is a major sponsor of the
National Multiple Sclerosis Society. This organization is providing
accurate, up-to-date information to individuals with MS, their families, and
healthcare providers is central to our mission. They are also a driving force
of MS research, relentlessly pursuing prevention, treatment, and cure.
Steinhafels has donated over $10,000 to help in the search for a cure.
Steinhafels is a major event sponsor and currently a platinum
sponsor for
Community Memorial’s Wheeling for Healing annual ride. The ride
benefits the Cancer Care Center at Community Memorial and celebrates cancer
survivors.
In 2007, Steinhafels donated over $70,000 worth of leather sofas
to
Jabez Transitional Living Center. Jabez is a drug and alcohol
rehabilitation center helping women of Milwaukee.

Steinhafels Blood Drives
 The
employees at Steinhafels care and each year many of our employees give the gift
of life by donating blood. Steinhafels has partnered with the
Blood Center of Wisconsin to create a team-focused activity for the
employees, and at the same time helping people and patients who need blood.
Each year the Blood Center of Wisconsin is responsible for supplying blood and
related products to 55 Wisconsin Hospitals. Those 55 hospitals serve 61% of
Wisconsin residents.

Company Supported Agencies
Steinhafels donates hundreds of furniture items to more than 100
separate nonprofit organizations. We generally donate merchandise instead of
cash. As a furniture retailer this makes sense because it allows us to make the
biggest impact with our resources and expertise. Typically we donate
merchandise to very needy nonprofit causes that may not receive United Way
funding. These projects include shelters, halfway houses, and centers serving
the homeless, battered and abused. These nonprofit organizations support people
in transition trying to make a change for the better in their lives.
