Daniel’s Reclaimed Barnwood Dining Program is based on reclaiming barnwood from aged Amish barns originally built from Oak trees grown during the 1800’s and 1900’s in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The Amish craftsmen preserve the essence of the weathered Oak wood by hand-selecting the Oak planks and removing the nails with care. The wood hues and knot holes are thoughtfully maintained. A natural stain is applied followed by a catalyzed varnish topcoat for protection. The barn siding is used for table tops as well as chair and bench seats can casegoods. The massive Oak beams are recycled into table legs and casegoods molding. Daniel’s Reclaimed Barnwood Program captures the unique and rich history of the Amish heritage and transforms it into furniture that can be passed from generation to generation.
