Lena Zayed is an emerging designer whose work blends digital fabrication, architecture, and interior design. A graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Bachelor of Architecture program—with a focus in digital design and visual studies—she brings a balanced understanding of both aesthetics and feasibility to every project.
At Steinhafels Orland Park, Lena leads residential design projects from initial measurements and spatial planning to 3D renderings, material palettes, and custom furniture coordination. Her architectural background allows her to look beyond decoration and consider structure, function, and long-term livability, resulting in designs that are both beautiful and practical.
Lena was a finalist for the AIA Chicago 2025 Design Excellence Award for Change in Plot, a parametric installation exhibited at Crown Hall. Her creative work spans oil painting, digital design, and fabrication, keeping her ideas fresh and continually evolving.
She is inspired by the balance of problem-finding and problem-solving, viewing design as an iterative, collaborative process. Lena values open dialogue with her clients and loves helping families fall back in love with their homes—creating spaces that feel personal, functional, and truly lived-in.
